Man Group PhD Studentships are available to three-year PhD students(whether UK/EU or overseas) in the Signal Processing and Communications Laboratory (Department of Engineering) or theStatistical Laboratory (Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics), whose research is statistical in natureand involves a significant practical data modelling component.
The Studentships provide 'top-up' awards of 9,000 a year for threeyears (27,000 in total) in order to supplement other funding sources. Three Studentships are available to start in the academicyear 2009-10, (subject to final confirmation of funding) and threemore to start in each of the two following years. They will beawarded to the most outstanding PhD students who meet the abovecriteria. Current applicants who meet the criteria will automatically be considered.
The Studentships are supported by Man Group plc, a member of the DowJones Sustainability World Index and the FTSE4Good Index. Man also supports many awards, charities and initiatives around the world, including sponsorship of the Man Booker literary prizes and the ManGroup International Climate Change Award.
