We seek for candidates to apply for PhD grants with the Research Group Control, Dynamics and Applications (CoDAlab) at the Department of Applied Mathematics III of the Technical University of Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona (Spain). These positions are in the framework of two research projects: (1) Identification and control of structural systems with hysteresis and (2) Decentralized control of networked systems with application to large structures.

Grants are for 3-4 years and the salary is around 1100 euros per month plus insurance. The tuition fees for the PhD program are also covered. Our group is composed by engineers and mathematicians. We are preferably seeking for engineers with background in control systems and acceptable mathematical level or mathematicians with background in dynamical systems and control and motivation for
applied research. Typical profiles would be: civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, control engineers and applied mathematicians.
