France International Scholarships for India, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, Morocco, Russia and Saudi Arabia Students


In March 2010, the Ministry of External and European Affairs (MEEA) and AIR LIQUIDE decided to create a
programme for hosting and supporting meritorious foreign students in France.
This forms part of the “QUAI D’ORSAY – ENTERPRISES” programme of the Ministry of External and European Affairs and is based on a public-private partnership The specificity of this MEEA programme lies in the creation of optimal and personalized conditions for hosting foreign students and jointly selecting candidates with the MEEA, AIR LIQUIDE and French higher education partner institutions.
The AIR LIQUIDE-MEEA co-financed scholarship programme is aimed at students hailing from India, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, Morocco, Russia and Saudi Arabia, who are currently pursuing their studies in their countries. Only candidates holding the nationality of one of these six countries are eligible for this programme; candidates holding dual citizenship, if it includes French nationality, are not eligible.
For the academic year 2010-2011, 12 scholarships will be awarded.

The AIR LIQUIDE-MEEA co-financed study scholarship will be awarded for one year of studies in France at the
Master 2 level or a Master of Science, in the following areas:
- Energy
- Industrial Engineering
- Engineering
- Economics/ Finance

[USA] The Contemporary Russia Program for the year 2010 to Students and Current American Teachers in Russia


The American Councils Contemporary Russia Program offers students and current American teachers of history, social studies, and language arts an opportunity to study abroad in Russia and to gain new knowledge and competency in Russian area studies and Russian language. Contemporary Russia is the first American Councils program designed to serve participants at all levels of Russian-language proficiency, including those with no prior training in the language.
Contemporary Russia provides twenty-two hours per week of in-class instruction in Russian economics, Russian politics, Russian culture, and Russian language. All content-based courses are taught in English by faculty of the State University: Higher School of Economics in Moscow, one of Russia’s most prestigious centers for the study of social sciences. Program participants receive ten hours per week of Russian language instruction geared toward their skill level (participants with no prior training in Russian will be provided elementary instruction, while those who have completed previous language courses will attend more advanced classes). Participants are registered for academic credit at Bryn Mawr College.
A full-time resident director oversees academic and cultural programs; assists participants in academic, administrative and personal matters; and coordinates activities with the host institution faculty. Participants live with Russian host families or in university dormitories. Other program features include weekly cultural excursions, peer tutors, and pre-departure orientation in Washington, D.C.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be (1) U.S. citizens or permanent who are currently K-12 teachers of culture, history, or literature, or (2) U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are graduate students or rising juniors and seniors at the undergraduate level, and plan to pursue a career in teaching.
Length:
Five Weeks
June 22, 2010 to July 28, 2010
Price:
Twelve finalists will be selected to receive program funding from the U.S. Department of Education under the Fulbright-Hays Act. All program expenses (less the $850 administrative fee and their domestic travel to and from Washington, D.C.) will be paid for these participants.

[Korea] KT&G Foundation Scholarships 2010 for Master Degree

Yonsei University. KT&G Fellowship at GSIS, for Turkish, Iranian, Russian, Kazakhstani, Indonesian, Yonsei 2010


The KT&G Foundation offers scholarships to the Turkish, Iranian, Russian, Kazakhstani, Indonesian students who seek a master’s degree at the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) of Yonsei University:

Terms of Fellowship

The scholarship covers a maximum of 24 months (2 years), from March 2010 to February 2012. Students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0/ 4.3 every semester to maintain fellowship eligibility.

Scholarship Details
Tuition fee: The KT&G Foundation will provide tuition fee for Spring 2010 through Fall 2011 (up to 4 semesters).

Stipend: The KT&G Foundation will provide a monthly stipend of KRW 1,000,000(= USD 892) for up to 24 months.

Obligations
Participation in a field trip, a roundtable conference prepared by the Foundation

Participation in events and activities upon request from the school or the foundation

Submission of a report on your life in Korea two months prior to your graduation and a copy of your Master’s thesis

KT&G Fellowship recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.3 scale in order to retain their scholarship. If they fail in this requirement at any time, their scholarship will be cancelled and they will be ineligible to receive it again in further semesters.

If a KT&G Fellowship recipient decides to withdraw from their program of study they must pay the KT&G Foundation the full amount of the scholarship received up to the time of withdrawal.

Eligibility and Conditions
Degree: A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree.
Age : No limit
Health: Applicants must be in both sound physical and mental health.

English Language Proficiency: Applicants must possess strong English language proficiency (Recommended score of TOEFL CBT 237 (IBT 93/PBT 580), IELTS 6.5 or above).

Arrival in Korea: Scholarship recipients must arrive in Korea by February 23, 2010 and must attend the new student orientation program on February 24, 2010 at Yonsei GSIS.

Application Period: All necessary documents must be submitted to the Yonsei GSIS office between September 1, 2009 ~ November 30, 2009. All original documents should arrive at the GSIS office by this date.

Alfa Fellowship Program in Business, Economics, Journalism, Law, and Public Policy

Alfa Fellowship Program: high-level professional program placing 10 qualified Americans per year in work assignments at leading organizations in Russia in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, and public policy. Key goals are expanding networks of American/Russian professionals and advancing US/Russian relations.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • U.S. citizen between the ages of 25 and 35
  • Graduate degree and professional experience in business, economics, journalism, mass communications, law, international relations, political science, government, or public policy. Candidates without a graduate degree must demonstrate extensive and equivalent professional experience in their field
  • Outstanding professional achievement and academic qualifications
  • Active involvement in community or public service
  • Russian language experience is preferred, however not required, at the time of application. If an applicant does not speak Russian, they will need to demonstrate proficiency in a second language to qualify for the program.
  • Evidence of leadership potential
The program includes language training, seminar programs, and extended professional experience. Fellows receive travel, free housing, monthly stipends, and insurance. Russian language proficiency is preferred though not required at the time of application.
