The Technical University of Denmark offers The PhD Fellowships in Metagenomics and Nano-chip for the year 2010 in Denmark
The fellowship will be part of two large projects: The first is an EU research project (BIOTRACER, see www.biotracer.org) focusing on improved biotraceability of unintended micro-organisms and their substances in food and feed chains. The second project is a national project on vaccination of poultry against Campylobacter. In both projects the PhD student will focus on the development of culture-independent, metagenmics-based techniques for detection, enumeration and characterization of Campylobacter. In addition, part of the PhD will deal with the transfer of culture-independent protocols to a nano-chip platform, which is under development by a private partner company.
