The Fullbright Commission offers The Fulbright Schuman Awards to Irish and EU Citizens for the academic year 2010/11 in USA


In the Fulbright – Schuman Program, there are 22 awards for research and or post-graduate study on EU affairs or US-EU relations at an accredited US university or independent research center for an average duration of four months. Candidates are responsible for arranging their own affiliation and can request projects tenable in a maximum of two different US institutions.
2 to 4 one-semester scholar awards for lecturing on EU affairs or US-EU relations, integration, and political economy at a selected US university. The successful candidates will be placed in an appropriate institution.
grants for professionals in international education administration (e.g., international exchange professionals; study abroad; or admission officers) to work in similar office in the US. Candidates are responsible for arranging their own affiliation. Maximum period of grant is four months.

Eligibility:

This Award is:
for the student and scholar awards: post-graduate students, scholars or professionals with
experience in at least two different EU countries
personal qualities and a proven level of academic or professional excellence as well as outstanding records
two years of professional experience
proficiency in English.



Award Details:
Student and scholar awards in EU affairs or US-EU relations or awards for professionals in international education administration
€3,000 monthly stipend
travel grant and relocation allowance
health and accident insurance
visa sponsorship
3 – 10 months for student and scholar awards (preference will be given to projects of 4 months’ duration) and maximum 4 months for international education professional awards.

submit final application by 1st March 2010 to Fulbright Commission in Belgium
be interviewed by Fulbright Commission in Ireland.
