Lecturer in Animal Welfare/Management Moulton College

Lecturer in Animal Welfare/Management
Moulton College
Moulton is one of the UK’s leading specialist Colleges providing education and training in the natural, built and recreational environments, from pre-entry to Postgraduate degree level. Moulton has experienced unprecedented growth and development over the last decade and is now one of the largest specialist colleges in the UK, with around 4500 student FTEs, 750 staff and a turnover in excess of £28.5 million p.a. With high levels of learner achievement and significant and continuous investment in resources, the College enjoys superb facilities within a rural environment.

The College judged by Ofsted to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas; holds the Investor in People, Career Mark, Matrix and Basic Skills Agency awards, is a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Construction, holds LSIS Beacon Status and was ranked highly in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the Public Sector List for 2010.

The College’s Animal Welfare facilities encompass a purpose built Animal Welfare Centre, an Animal Therapy Centre housing grooming and canine hydrotherapy units, an on-site commercial veterinary practice and commercial Pet Retail outlet. The Animal Welfare Centre houses in excess of one hundred species of common and exotic mammals, birds, cold water and tropical fish, invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles.

Due to our continued growth in students wishing to study for qualifications in animal welfare and related subjects we now seek innovative, experienced and self-motivated individuals, ideally with teaching experience, to make a significant contribution to a team of staff delivering a range of courses from entry to degree level. The College has made continuous and substantial investments in resources and this is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding subject area during the next phase of its development. Previous animal handling experience would be advantageous.

Starting salaries according to qualifications and experience in one of the following ranges:

Lecturer Band ‘A’: £22,893.00 – £31,344.00 p.a.
Lecturer Band ‘B’: £28,594.00 – £37,065.00 p.a.
