Postdoctoral Position in Immunology/Infectious Diseases – TLR

Postdoctoral Position in Immunology/Infectious Diseases – TLR
A postdoctoral position is available to study signal transduction of Toll-like receptors (TLR). Affinity purification and quantitative mass spectrometry analysis is used to identify new components of different TLR-mediated signaling complexes (see Nature 439(7073):204-207, 2006). Proteins will be characterized in respect to their role in signal transduction and TLR-dependent regulation of immune cell functions. The long term goal of this project is to identify new molecules and signaling pathways which are relevant for physiological immune cell regulation and which are possibly also involved in immuno-pathologies such as sepsis and auto-inflammatory diseases.
The project provides an ideal opportunity for fellows who are interested, 1., in signal transduction and cutting edge protein identification/ interaction analysis, such as quantitative MS-based proteomics and 2., in Immunology and the functional investigation of identified new proteins during TLR-mediated immune responses.
Requirements:
* PhD and/or MD degree in Biochemistry, Biology or Immunology.
* Experience in protein purification, cell culture and molecular biology is desirable.
