Denmark : PhD Scholarship at DTU Informatics starting in the fall 2010


A PhD scholarship is available at DTU Informatics with a starting date in the fall 2010. The scholarship is offered as part of a strategic plan so that supervisors not having any PhD students already will be given highest priority.

The subject of the PhD thesis must be within one of the main research areas of the department:
Qualifications 
Candidates should hold a M.Sc. degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a M.Sc. degree in engineering.

DTU Scholarships
The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programs at DTU.

Please note: 
The application must be submitted in co-operation with a potential supervisor. It is the responsibility of the applicant to contact a potential supervisor and ask for an endorsement.
Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current Danish rules for PhD students. The period of employment is 3 years.

Applications in the form of one original hard copy and one PDF file (electronically submitted) must be submitted to Be-te Elsebeth Strøm at the address indicated above.

Applications must include:
  • A personal application addressed to the Dean of Graduate Studies and International Affairs
  • Short description of your PhD project
  • Acceptance in writing from a supervisor
  • Documentation for MSc degree
  • Excell sheet with translation of grades to the Danish grading system
  • CV
The application must be received by DTU Informatics no later than Friday April 23rd 2010 at noon.
