The World Forestry Center offers Internships for the year 2010/11 in USA


The World Forestry Center is 501(c)3 non-profit organization which often relies on the generosity of volunteers and interns to help us fulfill our mission to educate and inform people about the world’s forests and trees, and their importance to all life, in order to promote a balanced and sustainable future. Located in Washington Park in Portland, Oregon, the World Forestry Center operates several programs including the Discovery Museum, Tree Farms, and the World Forest Institute.

Eligibility:

For those with a forestry, education, or a natural resources background.

Internship Details:

This is an unpaid, volunteer position. Although the intern will not receive monetary compensation, benefits include: professional experience in a diverse and international work environment; opportunity to learn about local and global forestry; natural resources and tree farm management; experience working in non-profit organization in marketing, administrative, special programs and organizational work; networking and making contacts in forestry throughout the Pacific Northwest.
