For each Graduate School and each Doctoral Program information regarding the study program, the number of places and scholarships available, the criteria for the evaluation of qualifications (if provided), the dates for admission exam sessions, the possibility of an oral exam in a foreign language for a candidate who requests it in his/her application and any other information relative to the selection process are detailed in Attachment no.

ART. 2 – INSTITUTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF GRADUATE SCHOOLS AND DOCTORAL PROGRAMS
The Graduate Schools and Doctoral Programs held during the year 2010 will have their administrative base in the University of Verona.
The Graduate Schools and Doctoral Programs will start on the 1st of January 2010 (the academic year will coincide with the calendar year) on the condition that, after the recruitment period, there are a minimum of three people enrolled for each Doctoral Program and School.

ART. 3 – ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In order to be able to apply for the call for admissions to Graduate Schools and/or Doctoral Programs, any applicant (regardless of age or nationality) must be in possession of either a “Laurea” Degree (“Vecchio Ordinamento”) or a Master Degree (“Laurea Specialistica”) released by an Italian university, or of an equivalent academic qualification from a foreign university that grants access to a PhD course.

Applicants who will qualify for a degree within and not after the beginning date of Doctoral Programs (1st January 2010) will also be able to apply. In this case participation in the Call will be defined “subject to confirmation” and candidates will be required to submit to Area Ricerca – U.O. Dottorati di Ricerca Nazionali ed Internazionali within and not after the 31st December 2009 the degree certificate or self-certification of said degree (in accordance with DPR n. 445 dated 28th December 2000 for EU citizens). Applications missing this documentation will not be considered.

Candidates are admitted to participate in the call subject to confirmation. Exclusion from the procedure, in case the aforementioned prerequisites are missing, may be imposed at any time as a motivated sanction, even after examination sessions. Applications submitted or received after the closing date or without the exact title of the Graduate School/Program to which the person wishes
to apply will be rejected.

ART. 4 – APPLICATION

Applications, addressed to Rettore dell'Università degli Studi di Verona, Via dell’Artigliere 8 –37129 Verona – Italy, consisting in Attachment n. 2 duly filled in, together with any qualification as required by the procedures, must be submitted to the University of Verona by the deadline set for September, 21th 2009, by means of:

(specifying on the envelope “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION PROCESS TO BE ADMITTED TO DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN ……. IN THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ……..) at the University of Verona Post Office – Via dell’Artigliere n. 8, Verona, in the following hours:
from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 13.00;

dell’Artigliere 8 – 37129 Verona – Italia specifying on the envelope “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION PROCESS TO BE ADMITTED TO DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN ……. IN THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ……..)

ATTENTION: The postmark date does not constitute proof of dispatch.
Applications must be received within the deadline, with no exceptions. Any applications received after the deadline will be rejected.

Candidates residing abroad can advance the application documents by e-mail to the following address: dottorati.ricerca@ateneo.univr.it. The original papers required for the application must be submitted by post anyway.

ART. 10 – SCHOLARSHIP
The amount granted for a scholarship is € 13.638,47 per year (gross) and will be increased in situations stipulated by law. The scholarship is exempt from IRE (personal income tax).

The scholarship will be granted for the entire duration of the PhD course (three years) and the instalments will be paid monthly in arrears on the 15th day of each month. To the students enrolled in the first year of the PhD program, the january and february instalments will not be paid earlier than March 15th except for foreign candidates, who will receive the first instalment not earlier than February 15th only if they submit all the necessary documentation within the deadline set for
December 20th, 2009.
