[New Zealand] International Doctoral Research Scholarships

New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) are open to all international students who meet the eligibility criteria.
NZIDRS scholarships include:

• Full tuition fees for three years of full-time doctoral study
• NZ$20,500 per annum living allowance (NZ$1708.33 per month).
• up to NZ$600 annual health insurance allowance
• NZ$2000 (across 3 year tenure) travel allowance. This is intended to be used for conference attendance and field research
• NZ$800 (across 3 year tenure) book and thesis allowance
• NZ$500 one-off establishment allowance. Only to be paid to those students who are travelling to NZ specifically to take up the NZIDRS. No student already located in NZ is eligible to receive this amount.
• Additional funds are not available to support accompanying dependants.

Evidence of available supervision
You need to show evidence that academic supervision is available when you apply for this scholarship. Applicants should contact the relevant university departments to confirm the availability of appropriate supervision before submitting their applications.

Close Date
The NZIDRS closes to applications on the 15th of July each year.Applications will be accepted from early May until 5pm (NZ time) on Thursday the 15th of July 2010. Please note that NZIDRS applications received after the closing date and/or incomplete applications will not be considered by the selection panel under any circumstances. This is non-negotiable.

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining offers The Edgar Pam Fellowships to  young graduates, domiciled in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK for the year 2010/11 in UK

The Edgar Pam Fellowships are awarded for postgraduate study in subjects within the fields of minerals and mining.
Eligibility:
Those eligible for the award are young graduates, domiciled in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK, who wish to undertake advanced study or research in the UK.
Amount of The Fellowship:
The maximum value of the Fellowship, which is tenable for one year, is £2000

Selection Criteria:
The Institute judges the applications received for each award in respect of academic excellence and scholarship. The application must therefore specify academic ability. Candidates merely seeking assistance for financial hardship will not be considered.

The Goldsmiths offers The CSC Postgraduate Scholarships for the academic year 2010/11 to Developed Commonwealth Countries Students at Goldsmiths, London University, UK

There are a number of scholarships available to postgraduate students (Master’s, Research and split-site) who are from Australia, The Bahamas, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Cyprus, Malta, New Zealand or Singapore. These scholarships provide full tuition fees, living costs, airfares and allowances, and are jointly funded by the UK Government and Goldsmiths.

Kathleen Mary Reardon Travelling Scholarship in Music 2009/2010 – The university of Ackland

Scholarship Introduction:

This Scholarship was established in 1998 by the trustees of the Reardon Memorial Music Trust in association with The University of Auckland using funds left to the Trust by the estate of Mrs Robina Annie Reardon, MBE.

To help music students from The University of Auckland intending to improve their instrumental or vocal skills overseas.

Eligibility for Scholarship:

The Scholarship shall be awarded by the Council of The University of Auckland on the result of an examination to be conducted by the Head of the School of Music or Deputy, with the assistance of another member of staff from the School of Music; and a third examiner, who will not normally be a current member of staff in the School of Music.

Scholarship Introduction:

Established in 2006 and financed by Phitek Systems, a global business designing and manufacturing a range of products for the international aviation, consumer electronics and personal communications markets.

The main purpose of the Phitek Systems Signal Processing Scholarship is to assist and encourage students taking the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Scholarship Introduction:

The New Zealand Refining Company Ltd has made available a Bursary for a student in one of the Departments of Chemical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering or Engineering Science.

The Bursary shall be held in one of the Departments of Chemical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Engineering Science at The University of Auckland.

How to apply:

The Bursary may not normally be held with any other Bursary, scholarship or fellowship.

• The Company reserves the right to terminate the award if the student is disciplined or does not complete his/her studies.
