Catawba College Merit Based Scholarship 2010-USA

Scholarship Introduction:
The First Family Scholarships are the most prestigious scholarships at Catawba College. There are two First Family Competitions, one taking place on November 20-21, 2009 and one taking place on February 19-20, 2010. Consideration for the First Family Scholarship is by invitation only. In order to be considered for an invitation, students must first apply for admission to Catawba.

Scholarship Eligibility:
SAT Math sub-score & critical Reading sub-scores totaling 1150 or

ACT composite Score of 25 & academic grade point average of 3.5. Freshman status.

How to apply:
Those subsequently invited to compete must complete the Financial Aid Estimator Form, provide a recommendation from a teacher or administrator, submit an essay of approximately 300 words (on a selected topic which you will receive by invitation), and submit a co-curricular listing of achievements by the appropriate deadline.

2010 TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP IN ALLEGHENY COLLEGE-PA

Allegheny College, USA -Trustee Scholarship Program  2010

Scholarship Introduction:
Allegheny College has a long history of welcoming international students. Over the years, many students with diverse backgrounds have found Allegheny’s unique environment to be a perfect fit for them.
As a school that attracts students with unusual combinations of interests, skills, and talents, we recognize that international students are far more than just representatives of their native countries. They are unique blends of cultures, influences, and interests with much to share and contribute to our community. To recognize applicants with strong academic records and programs Allegheny College has a trustee scholarship to offer.

Eligibility for scholarship:
Students recognized as Trustee Scholars usually rank in the top 25% of their high school class (or otherwise excelling in class work and other activities when the school does not rank) and have SAT/ACT scores consistent with their academic performance. Allegheny values students who balance their academic excellence with other distinctive activities. The top scholarship is awarded to the very best of the best, typically to only the top 5% of our applicants each year. A limited number of Trustee Scholarships are available to highly qualified transfer students.

How to apply:
Complete Allegheny’s regular Application for Admission by February 15. Trustee Scholarship award winners will be notified via mail regarding their eligibility and amount of award.

SCHOLARSHIP IN ALLEN COLLEGE 2010-USA

2010 Scholarship Assistance by Allen College, USA

Scholarship Introduction:
The purpose of financial assistance is to provide funds to students that otherwise would be unable to pursue a college education. This assistance is intended to supplement (not replace) the amount the student and/or her or his family can afford.

Eligibility for scholarship:
Students with a background matching the application criteria for scholarships offered through Allen College will be considered eligible applicants for those scholarships. In addition, to be considered an eligible applicant for 2010-2011, you must attend Allen College summer 2010 and/or fall 2010. Your application will remain active for the academic year until final awards have been made for all scholarships.

How to apply:

Complete the application form and Personal Essay.
Submit two (2) professional and/or academic references from persons most familiar with your background and abilities. Your references need to reflect your specific qualifications as they relate to the applicable scholarships for which you are applying. These qualifications will be carefully examined to determine your eligibility based on the individual donor’s criteria. Please refer to the Scholarship Book for the scholarship criteria. The Scholarship Book is available in the Barrett Library or the Student Services Office.
