Hanze University of Applied Science Groningen is pleased to offer three partial scholarships for eligible Master candidates. A Scholarship, a partial tuition waiver of 30% of the tuition fee, is available for the each following programme:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Business Administration in International Business & Management (MBA IB&M).
- MBA in Eurasian Business & Management Programme.
The International Business School of Hanze University Groningen offers Bachelors and Masters degree programmes for students aiming to increase their knowledge in order to improve their career opportunities and to develop themselves further. Our aim is to make our knowledge and expertise available to the general public and more specifically to trade, industry and institutions in the field of health care, communication and social work.
This academic year we offer three post- graduate courses in English for our international students:
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The manager of today is expected to have an integrated and strategic vision. It is no longer adequate to be concerned only with finances or logistic processes, or with staff and clients.
Managers and the business leaders of the future need to understand how to integrate the various disciplines into an effective and efficient whole. Total vision is important. The focus throughout the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme will be on integration of all the different managerial functions.
Master of Business Administration in International Business and Management (MBA in IB&M)
The Master of Business Administration in International Business & Management (MBA IB&M) programme is designed to prepare prospective managers for higher positions in internationally operating companies. The course combines managerial skills development with the academic and conceptual framework necessary to operate successfully as a manager in an international business environment.
MBA in Eurasian Business & Management Programme
The International Business School of Hanze University of Applied Sciences, is starting a new MBA Programme in EurAsian Business & Management in September 2009.
Through our large number of business contacts in the EU and in Asia we can claim that there is a great need for young (potential) managers who would like to join their companies in the business between the European Union and Asia, notably China and India. The International Business School is in contact with these companies who are looking for you, if you are willing to become competent in general management, cross-cultural skills, and how to do business between the European Union and Asia.
Groningen: One of the nicest university towns in the Netherlands.
Groningen is a lively university town, which is located in the north of the Netherlands, where about 180,000 people reside. A quarter of the population of Groningen consists of students, which has a positive effect on the town and the facilities it offers. Students residing in Groningen study either at the Groningen State University (RUG) or at the Hanze University Groningen.
The old town centre offers numerous opportunities for leisure, ranging from shopping to sports or relaxing in the restaurants and pubs in the streets surrounding the town centre.
Groningen has been rated as best student city in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam, from a higher education Survey in NRC (NL’s leading daily newspaper) in Oct 2007.
Furthermore Groningen has been rated as:
- ‘Best downtown in NL’, official Dutch title survey in 2005,
- Safest city in the NL, survey in 2004,
- Best bike city in the world (2002),
- Best liked by its inhabitants in a comparable survey from the EU (July 2007) among inhabitants of 75 cities in the EU, on aspects such as amenities, facilities, safety, pleasant people living there, clean air, etc: Groningen nr 1 (2nd Leipzig, 3rd Krakow).
In order to begin your application procedure for the MBA scholarship the Hanze University Admissions Committee and Neso needs to receive the following before 15 May 2010:

- motivation letter and CV (detailed job description)
- Copies of all diplomas and certificates as confirmation of academic achievements supporting your application
- Your TOEFL (or IELTS) test score certificate (if appropriate)
- A copy of your passport
- A copy of your birth certificate
- 4 passport photographs (name and date of birth clearly stated on the back)
International Student Office
The staff of the International Student Office (ISO) helps Dutch and foreign students with practical matters like information about tuition fees, student grants, studies abroad, visas, residence and work permits as well as grants for international exchange.
The Housing Office organizes the accommodation of foreign students in so-called international student houses or in Dutch homes. And there are numerous opportunities to learn the Dutch language. For answer to all of your questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Hanze’s International Student Office.
