The Macquarie University offers The PhD Arts Scholarships to Domestic and International PhD Candidates for the academic year 2010/11 at the Department of Modern History, Politics, International Relations and Security in Australia

A full-time PhD scholarship is currently available in the Department of Modern History, Politics, International Relations and Security, Macquarie University. A PhD project is being offered in the Department of Modern History, Politics, International Relations and Security as part of the Gallipoli Centenary Research Project.

Eligibility:

Domestic and International PhD Candidates only.

Scholarship Details:

A PhD project is being offered in the Department of Modern History, Politics, International Relations and Security as part of the Gallipoli Centenary Research Project. The aim of the Gallipoli Centenary Project is to make a comprehensive study of the Ottoman Turkish operations during the Gallipoli Campaign and assess how this impacted on the outcomes of the campaign. The project has been accumulating documents from Turkish archival sources and translating them into English as a data base since 2007.  The PhD candidate will be expected to substantially utilise this documentary database in the preparation of the thesis. Knowledge of Ottoman Turkish an advantage but not essential. An abstract outline of your proposal for a PhD thesis should accompany your application.
