Nagoya University Programme for Academic Exchange (NUPACE) is now open for application both for autumn and spring semester. NUPACE offers a unique curriculum consisting of Japanese language instruction, Japan area/intercultural studies, and courses in the students major field of study.

Students joining NUPACE programme in Spring 2011 are required to arrive in Japan in the early April 2011 for a pre-class orientation.
Eligibility
The scholarship is open to students who at the time of application and admission to Nagoya University are enrolled in full-time courses in UGM who meet following conditions:
GPA minimum 3.1 on a scale of 4.0
Applicants must demonstrate that they will benefit from studying in Japan, and are required to produce a clear study plan with regard to their studies at Nagoya University
Applicants must not be previous recipients of JASSO scholarship
Applicants are not permitted to simultaneously apply for a Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship for the same academic year
Applicants must, upon completion of their term of scholarship submit a study report to Nagoya University
Applicants must for reasons of financial difficulty, be unable to finance their studies in Japan independently
Applicants must, upon their completion o the term of exchange, return to their home institution
Applicants must be eligible to obtain a ‘college students’ visa for the purpose of study in Japan and, therefore must hold a nationality other than Japanese
Applicants must not be recipients of scholarship awards from other organization that exceeds 80.000 Yen per month
Applicants must have a good english capability (TOEFL min. 550)

Erasmus Mundus Master Scholarships in Astronomy and Astrophysics 2011
Applications are now accepted for AstroMundus, a 2years international Master Course in Astronomy and Astrophysics offered by a partnership of 5 universities: University of Innsbruck (Austria), University of Padova and University of Rome “Tor Vergata†(Italy), University of Goettingen (Germany), and University of Belgrade (Serbia). The Master Course is funded by the European Commission within the Erasmus Mundus programme, 2nd Edition, Action 1.
The course is open to students of all nationalities. Admitted students will conduct their studies in at least 2 and up to 4 of the partner Universities and, upon successful completion of their studies, they will be awarded a Joint Master Degree by all universities where they studied during the Master Course. The course is held in the English language, however students will have the possibility to learn the language of the host countries through courses offered by the host universities. Full details about the programme and the application procedure are given in the AstroMundus website.
Eligible students have a certified good knowledge of the English Language and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or Mathematics, or an equivalent amount of certified learning (3 years, 180 ECTS credits) in the same field(s). A number of Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available both for non-European and European students. The admission to the Master Course and assignment of scholarships are based on excellence.

The Institute of International Forestry and Forest Products of TU Dresden is seeking candidates for joining the two-year Master programme Tropical Forestry and Management.
The Master’s course aims at qualifying graduates to deal with the growing challenges of sustainable forest management in the tropics and subtropics. Special emphasis is given to the interactions among human being and forest formation development. Its international orientation towards forest management and socio-economics of forestry in the tropics and subtropics makes this programme unique in Europe.

Students from third countries can apply for Erasmus Mundus International Master in Digital Library Learning Scholarships. For each student the scholarship amounts to €24,000 per academic year.
This includes 10 monthly grants of €1,600 and a fixed amount of €5,000 for fees, travel expenses, relocation costs, etc.
The International Master in Digital Library Learning (DILL) is a two-year Master Programme for information professionals who intend to work in the complex world of digital libraries.
Requirements for all DILL students:
A degree in Library and Information Science (based on no less than three years of study – 180 ECTS) or equivalent qualifications such as a degree in another relevant subject.
English skills
Students from non-English speaking countries must have passed:
either IELTS (International English Language Testing System) (minimum score: 5.5 points)

Applicants from non-EU countries are invited to apply for these scholarships. They need to have completed 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades, or show strong evidence of the ability to successfully complete the programme and progress to their chosen degree course.
Students wishing to study music must provide evidence of musical ability, normally having achieved a good mark in grade VIII practical examination of the Associated Board or equivalent.
Students applying for these scholarships must also have an English language level of IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent. Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and the quality of the Scholarship statement. Please note that sponsored students are not eligible to apply.
Successful applicants will receive a scholarship worth £5250.00 which will be deducted from their INTO Foundation programme tuition fees.
Upon successful completion (and subject to achieving specified grades for entry), students entering University of East Anglia will receive a further £5250.00, which will be deducted from the University’s Year 1 tuition fees.
Value of award
£10,500
Successful scholarship applicants who have paid their full tuition fees 4 weeks prior to the course beginning will receive a scholarship of 50% of the Foundation tuition fees received. The same amount will be discounted from the first year of their undergraduate degree course at University of East Anglia.
Application procedures
Applicants must first complete an INTO University of East Anglia application form. Under Section 7 of the form applicants must tick sponsor and then under the following heading Name of employee/sponsor, applicants must write the following: ‘INTO/University Scholarship 50% off Foundation tuition fees.’
Applicants should remember to clearly state which pathway they are applying for. They should then submit their completed application form, along with their academic transcripts and evidence of their current English language level.
Complete a University of East Anglia Foundation Scholarship application form including a personal statement explaining why you want to study at University of East Anglia and how the degree programme will help you in the future. The statement must be hand-written in English and be no more than 200 words.

Scholarships for foreign citizens pursuing doctoral studies in natural sciences, technology or medicine at higher education level institutions in the Republic of Slovenia from academic year 2010/2011
For classification of study field in the area of education classification KLASIUS-P of Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (hereinafter referred to as SURS), available at http://stat.si/doc.klasif/Klasius-P.pdf, shall apply. The following categories of the classification KLASIUS_P fall into fields of natural sciences, technology and medicine:
Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science
Engineering, Production Technologies and Civil Engineering
Agriculture, Forestry, Fischery and Veterinary Science
Health
Transportation Services
Environmental Studies.
Interdisciplinary and other study programmes will be classified based on the publicly available information about the study programme. Distribution of credits, hours and courses, and if necessary also the purpose and scope of study programme, will be taken in consideration for classification of such programme into one of the areas as per KLASIUS-P. If both study fields will be equally represented, the study field more favourable for the candidate will be considered as predominant.
The scholarship is granted for:
tuition; the highest granted amount of yearly scholarship for tuition for an individual year of study according to this call for applications shall equal 100% of tuition, but not more than 3,000.00 EUR, for individual study year of doctoral studies, and
living expenses; in the total amount of 7.500,00 EUR for each year.
Tuition is considered to be the amount paid annually by an individual to an educational institution for participation in the education programme. Tuition does not comprise any other payments, mandatory or not, made to an educational institution, such as costs of registration, study materials, memberships in organisations or clubs, contributions for the use of laboratory, health or other insurance and other costs.
The value of the call for applications
The total value of the call for applications is 500.000,00 EUR for all years of study of the chosen candidates from the academic year 2010/11 onward for individual doctoral programme.
The right to scholarship shall be granted from the study year that starts in calendar year 2010, onward, but no longer that till the end of the study programme, to which the candidate is enrolled. The candidate must enrol and start studying in the study year, in which he is enrolled, in the calendar year 2010.
Conditions of the call for applications
A candidate must meet the following conditions:
he/she is not a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia, and will not obtain citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia during the entire duration of the study, for which he/she is applying for scholarship,
his/her permanent residence is outside the territory of the Republic of Slovenia,
he/she has not concluded undergraduate study in the Republic of Slovenia,
he/she has been accepted or has enrolled for doctoral studies in natural sciences, technology or medicine in the academic year 2010/2011,
the studies referred to in the previous indent shall take place under a publicly valid (accredited) study programme at a publicly valid (accredited) Slovene educational institution,
he/she will be awarded a publicly valid diploma upon completion of his/her studies,
he/she will have valid permit for temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia for the study programme for which he/she is applying for scholarship,
he/she shall not come to Slovenia under an academic exchange programme,
he/she will have the status of student throughout the study period of the scholarship applied for,
he/she will live in the Republic of Slovenia for the whole period of his/her studies, however exchanges abroad, if they are part of the study programme are allowed if they are not carried out in the student´s home country,
the study concerned is not organised in the form of distance learning or mere consultations in the Republic of Slovenia,
during the study, for which he/she is applying for scholarship, he/she will not be receiving any of the scholarships based upon the Scholarship Act,
during the study, for which he/she is applying for scholarship, he/she will not be receiving any other scholarship or any other form of education grants under other regulations in Republic of Slovenia,
during the study, for which he/she is applying for scholarship, he/she will not be employed or self?employed in the Republic of Slovenia or abroad,
during the study, for which he/she is applying for scholarship, he/she will not be registered as an unemployed person with the Employment Service of Slovenia or with the relevant institution of this type abroad,
the candidate has not previously concluded a scholarship contract with the Public Fund for the same study programme at a previous call for applications,
during the study concerned he/she will not have and will not obtain the status of early stage researcher.
The period of collecting applications starts on the day the call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia and continues until the expiry of the deadline, i.e. Wednesday 22. September 2010.
An application is submitted in due time if the Public Fund receives it within the time limit for submission of applications. If the application is sent by registered mail, the day of posting is considered to be the day of receipt by the Public Fund.
The application can be submitted personally at the Public Fund’s address, during office hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9.00 to 15.00 o’clock, Wednesday between 9.00 and 16.00 and Friday between 9.00 and 14.00 o’clock.
Applications submitted after the expiry of the application period shall be dismissed.
An application is considered as complete if it is submitted on the requisite application form and contains all the required documents and information, as provided in this public call. Candidates whose applications will be incomplete will be invited to complete the applications. In case a candidate fails to complete the application within the time period determined in the request for completion, his/her application will be dismissed.
In pursuance of the provisions of paragraph 28, point 26, of the Administrative Fees Act (OG of the RS No. 14/07-UBP3, 126/07), the application is exempt from fee.

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore offers a 3 year Program of Doctoral Studies in Economics fully accredited worldwide.
The Program, taught entirely in English, provides outstanding training for study and research in the various fields of economics. It has a long and consolidated tradition of post-graduate teaching and research in both theoretical and applied economics. Since its inception, more than one hundred students have successfully completed the PhD Program, and many of them are working in leading academic and non-academic, prestigious institutions like the Federal Reserve, the European Commission, the United Nations, the European Central Bank, the Bank of England and the Bank of Italy.
The first year of the PhD Program is devoted mainly to advanced course work in mathematics for economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and a considerable number of frontier state-of-the-art research topics. Full time research is pursued over the following two (or exceptionally three) years, during which each student must write his or her thesis.
