The BBVA Foundation and the Barcelona GSE offer 5 fully-funded scholarships to Latin American students with outstanding academic backgrounds applying to any master program. The George Scott Travelling Scholarship is awarded by the College of Humanities and Social Science on behalf of the Senatus and is open to candidates undertaking postgraduate study at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants must hold a University of Edinburgh Degree of not more than three years’ standing. In 2010-2011, priority will be given to applicants undertaking postgraduate study in English and Modern Languages.

If no suitable application is received for an award in this discipline, the scholarship may be awarded in other subject groupings in the following order of priority: History, Classical Languages and Classical Archaeology, and Mental Philosophy.

The purpose of the award is to assist candidates in travelling for study or research. The amount awarded will not exceed £5,700 in total and may be divided between two or more applicants. Successful applicants will be expected to submit a written report on the work undertaken and to present the findings in a manner agreed by the subject area concerned, e.g. a seminar or lecture.

Terms of the Award

Up to £5,700 for one year (a previous holder being eligible for re-election). Awarded annually by the College of Humanities and Social Science on behalf of the Senatus to a graduate of the College of not more than three years' standing to assist him or her in travelling for study or research.

A preference is given to suitable candidates desiring to undertake work in the following subjects in the following scheme of rotation: Semitic and Indian Languages, English and Modern Languages, History and Classical Languages, Classical Archaeology and Mental Philosophy. When not awarded to a candidate in the priority category, the scholarship will be offered in the next group, and so on.

Applicants are required to state the purpose to which they will put the scholarship and the other means which they have towards the object in view. The award is contingent on the importance of the proposed work, the sufficiency of the means, and the capacity of the applicants. The holder must satisfy the College that he/she is carrying out the work undertaken, and will be expected to submit a written report and to present the findings in a manner agreed by the department concerned, e.g. a seminar or lecture.

The MSc in Engineering Management is a one year full-time taught programme aimed at ambitious graduate engineers who aspire to higher level management positions, especially of a technical nature. The OPEC Fund for International Development Scholarship

OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) is pleased to announce that qualified applicants who have obtained or are on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree and who wish to study for a Master’s degree are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship 2010/2011. The OFID scholarship will be awarded to support one student or candidate for Master’s degree studies. The applicant may be from any developing country, and he/she must first obtain admission to pursue a Master’s degree studies in a relevant field of development, in any recognized university/college in the world. Through its scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated, highly-driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of graduate studies. The winner of the OFID Scholarship Award will receive a scholarship of up to US$100,000. The funds will be spread over a maximum of two years, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution, starting in the autumn of the academic year 2010/2011.

Application Guidelines

STEP 1: Ensure that you fulfill the OFID Scholarship Award Eligibility Criteria.

STEP 2: Register within the OFID Scholarship Portal by using your email address. Please note you can log into the portal as many times as required.

STEP 3: Fill out the application form. Make sure to save data each time you update your application. Once you are logged in, if the page remains inactive for more than two hours, your session will time-out and you may lose unsaved data. Do not submit your application until you have completed the entire application process!

STEP 4: Upload necessary documents; CV, two recommendation letters, Bachelor’s certificate/transcript, acceptance letter into postgraduate program and essay.

STEP 5: When your application is complete, and all additional documents are uploaded, your application is ready to be submitted. As mentioned previously, once your application is submitted, you can no longer make any changes or upload any more documents.

I. Eligibility

Must be between the ages of 23-32 at the time of submitting his/her application.
Must have obtained or be on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree with a Baccalaureate from an accredited college/university, or its equivalent.
Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 rating system, or its equivalent.
Must be matriculated at an accredited university for the upcoming academic year starting August/September 2010, and must maintain full-time status for the duration of the Master’s Degree.
Must be a national of a developing country (please see list of eligible countries below)
Must select a subject of study that pertains to OFID’s core mission, such as: economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification), or other related science and technology fields.

II. Disbursement of the Scholarship Fund

The terms and conditions of payment will be determined in coordination with the student upon his/her selection in accordance with the following guidelines:

The tuition fees, including any supplementary examination fees, as may be required by the academic institution, will be paid by OFID directly to the academic institution. Health insurance will be paid in accordance with the institution’s own standard medical scheme.
A monthly allowance to cover living expenses, books and accommodation, will be transferred to the student’s own personal bank account on a quarterly basis.
Prior to the start of his/her first year studies, the student will be paid a relocation grant, equal to two-month allowance. OFID will also pay for travel costs from the nearest airport to the student’s place of residence, to the nearest airport to the chosen place of study. Upon completion of the studies, the student will be paid the cost of one-way air ticket to his/her home country.

A scanned copy of the last university degree or certificate.
A scanned letter of acceptance from your chosen educational institution, confirming your admission, subject of study and duration of the Master’s degree program (must not exceed a maximum of two years).
A proof of meeting any prerequisites, including language proficiency.
A short essay – of about 500 words in English – giving reasons for applying for the OFID scholarship, explaining your educational goals, and clearly describing how you will use the experience gained from your Master’s degree studies to help in the development of your home country.

Job Description: Applicants need to:

* Fulfill the test and documentation requirements of the scholarship program.
* Be Egyptian nationals, who are residents of Egypt (preference will be given to those who have Egyptian citizenship only).

ICHM Scholarship of Hotel Management,New Zeland

Job Description: ICHM has two intakes in 2011. We reserve the right to request winners to commence in the July 2011 intake, unless the applicant has been accepted
into the January intake by scholarship closing date.
The tuition fees for NZ students starting in 2011 are A$23,050. The 2010 cost for Accommodation & Meals at ICHM is $7,850 (approx.), payable
during on-campus semesters and subject to availability.
The A$50 Scholarship Application Fee is non-refundable, this applies to successful and unsuccessful applicants. It is also not considered as part
of the New Student Fee or Course Fees.
The scholarship amount will be credited against the final fee payment each year.
ICHM is offering a number of scholarships in Australia. New Zealand applicants will only be considered for this scholarship if they obtain a “shortlist”
score equal to or better than the 10th best applicant in Australia.
The Selection Panel may decide to increase the number of scholarship winners by reducing the scholarship amount.
Payment of the scholarship amount on behalf of the student for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of the course will be dependent upon satisfactory academic
results and industry placement performance as determined by the ICHM Academic Board.
The awarding of the scholarship payment each year depends on the student paying the balance of the student fees by the due date as set out in the
Application Form contained in the prospectus. Students failing to pay the balance of fees by the due date will forfeit the right to their scholarship.
The Scholarships are open to new first year students only. Students currently studying at ICHM are ineligible.
Scholarship students failing to comply with the ICHM rules and regulations in relation to personal and ethical behaviour will forfeit their entitlement to
