IT University of Copenhagen
The ITU PhD programme trains researchers to carry out independent research at the highest International level. Researchers are enrolled for either 3 or 4 years in a PhD programme, and are ensured that all necessary activities are properly financed.
Twice a year the IT University announce a call for new PhD students. Deadline for applications for PhD positions are mid-April and mid-October. Please read call text and guidelines when PhD positions are announced.
As a PhD student at ITU, you will be assigned an advisor from one of the faculty groups. You can expect high quality supervision from experienced researchers working in an international environment.
The PhD programme consists of:
* Three- or four-year enrolment (see regulations and guidelines)
* Independent research
* Writing of a PhD thesis based on the research
* Course activities corresponding to 30 ECTS credits
* Involvement in active research environments both at and outside the IT University
* Communication activities, including teaching and other forms of knowledge dissemination
* Thesis defence
The PhD programme is characterized by:
* High quality supervision by experienced researchers;
* International scope in organization and content;
* Highly sought-after candidates inside and outside academia.
To be qualified for assessment when vacant positions for PhD positions are announced, you must possess the following qualifications:
* A bachelor degree and a master degree qualifies for assessment for a 3-year PhD enrollment/employment
* A bachelor degree and one year of university studies on master level qualifies for assessment for a 4-year PhD enrollment/employment
When the positions are announced you can send in your application following the guidelines and application template described in the call.
An assessment committee will assess all applications. You can expect an answer 2-3 months after the deadline for a call if you did sent in an application.
