Grade: PhD StudentshipSalary: £15,000 pa plus home/ EU feesApplications are invited for a DPhil Studentship in the Nuffield Dept. of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team and be supervised by Dr Richie Gill, Mr Andrew Price and Dr Philippa Hulley. The dissertation topic should be related to the work of academics at the Oxford Orthopaedic Engineering Centre.
It is essential that candidates have: first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (other engineering specialities, in particular Aerospace and Civil Engineering, will be considered); excellent mathematical skills; strong background in continuum mechanics and knowledge of computer programming, using a formal computer language such as C, C++ or Python. Experience with finite element analysis and excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English are also expected.
