The University of Luxembourg has the following vacancy in the Computer Science and Communications Research Unit of its Faculty of Sciences, Technology and Communication.
Junior Researcher / PhD student (M/F)
2-year contract, renewable once, 40 hours/week

Area: Computer Networks and Telecommunications
Mission:
Prepare a doctoral thesis in Computer Science (Networks and Telecommunications) on the topic of Network Enabled Capability Framework Models
Assist the professor in his teaching activities, one to five hours per week.
Contribute to tutoring students.
Create and optimise quantitative performance models for different network technologies like LTE, WiFI, WIMAX, GSM, 3G, TETRA etc.
Create and optimise a simulation environment for Network Enabled Capabilities
Profile:
A Master in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong background in network models, network simulators (QualNet, NS, Scilab, etc), communication protocols and programming skills in C/C++ and Java
Proficient language skills in English, German and/or French
